Keely Favell Thought She Was Getting Fat, But It Was An Ovarian Cyst

Doctors initially though she was pregnant, an ovarian cyst weighing 26kg (57lb) was subsequently removed from her body.

Following surgery to remove the tumor, Keely Favell lost a third of her body weight. She began to gain weight in 2014, but it wasn’t until she passed out at work in 2016 that she decided to visit a doctor about it.

Despite the results of multiple inconclusive blood tests, Favell’s GP decided she was pregnant, she said in a blog post about her experience.

“Looking at me, anyone would have assumed I was nine months pregnant, so naturally they referred me to my local hospital for a pregnancy ultrasound,”

After the ultrasound revealed she had a huge ovarian mass, she was referred to a high-risk obstetrics doctor, who informed her surgery was a “must” and that she would be “cut open from my chest bone all the way down to my pelvic bone, pretty much like an old-fashioned C-section”

She later underwent four hours of surgery at Swansea’s Singleton hospital to remove a cyst she afterwards named Mr Whippy.

“My recuperation subsequently has been clear sailing,” Favell stated, adding, “and although there have been a few glitches along the way, some of which are yet to be sorted, I am presently in far better health than I was before the surgery.” “Both physically and psychologically.”

She told the BBC that at first, the cyst seemed to develop so slowly that she didn’t think anything was wrong. “I’ve been with Jamie Gibbins for ten years and we’ve wondered whether I was pregnant a few times, but we did home tests and they always ruled it out,” she added.

She said it was so humiliating to explain she wasn’t pregnant to stranger.

Despite a scar, stretch marks, and a one-third weight loss, Favell has reclaimed her life and is still able to have children: “I lost sight of how tough even ordinary activities like driving a car or walking up the stairs had become.” I can’t thank my surgeon enough for removing my tumour and giving me back my life.”

Judy Brown Was Pregnant For Nine Months Without Knowing

In 2015, Just an hour before giving birth, a Massachusetts mother was shocked to learn she was carrying a child.

According to a hospital spokesman, Judy Brown, 47, went to Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Massachusetts, with acute stomach pain. While she initially thought the pain was due to a blockage or gall stone, health workers immediately determined she was in labor.

“It was a little bit scary getting into the hospital thinking something was really bad was going on,” Brown told ABC News. “To understand and take in that was I pregnant and was about to go into labor … it was very overwhelming.”

Brown gave birth to a healthy 8-pound, 2-ounce daughter approximately an hour after they arrived at the hospital, accompanied by her husband of 22 years, Jason Brown.

According to a hospital spokesman, the couple named her Carolyn Rose after both of their moms.

Even though her body was changing, Brown said it hadn’t occurred to her that she would be pregnant at that point in her life.

“Being pregnant after 22 years of marriage was not something that came up,” she explained. “It wasn’t really on my mind at the time.”
